The Fury of the Ynkarô
The Ynkarô River gets its name from the gigantic winged serpent that swore to protect Earhë, the Daïkinee goddess, after her companion Eäkhyn was sacrificed to save the Eternal Forest. Invisible and fearsome, Ynkarô struck the goddess's enemies with lightning speed and with the fury of a storm. When the time for him to die had come. Earhë gave him her blessing he became the immortal spirit of the great river. The legend ends with the goddess letting her sword fall into the waves in honor of her fierce protector.
No one knows under what circumstances Velrys found the sword with which he built himself a sanguinary reputation. Yet he, the Prince of the Impure, remembers that one day he asked the river to take his life, but instead it gave him its weapon. It surely isn't a coincidence that Velrys's animal-totem is a winged serpent?
