Baron Ozöhn's Hunts (back)

Baron Ozöhn is one of the few Goblins whose proven noble lineage goes back at least five generations. Gifted with a rare intelligence and sense for strategy for a representative of his people, Ozöhn showed an interest in the sanguinary arts of hunting and of war at a very young age. Notwithstanding the comfort offered by his origins, the young Baron enlisted voluntarily in the ranks of the Ströhm to "build his character" as he says. And this served him well, since his natural charism and his pitilessness let him quickly climb the hierarchic ladder. They say that within a day and a night he had trained a rat as ferocious as he, which had killed all its previous trainers. In the early morning the giant rat Arsenickh had become the best friend the Baron could have, except maybe his brother-in-arms Becbunzen. Having become a unit leader, Ozöhn, simply called "the Baron" by his colleagues, went from victory to victory. To him, battle was just an exciting hunt, the enemy just another prey.

Yet one morning the intrepid Baron met defeat. During the siege of one of the Dwarf cities that border the Ægis mountains, his ranks were broken and reduced to a pulp by the hoofs of the Razorbacks. At the head of a Khor detachment, the Dwarf Kaël the Irascible made it a point of honor to defy the Baron to a duel, because the Goblin had killed the Dwarf's brother in a skirmish a few days before. Neither Ozöhn's sword nor spear could pierce Kaël's heavy armor.

Defeat, humiliated, and his leg irreversibly broken by the Dwarf Champion's violence, Ozöhn had no choice but to flee.

For a long time the Baron searched for the weak spot in the Khor armor. He'd never be strong enough to pierce it, no matter what weapon he uses. He would have to use some kind of projectile, yet thrown weapons are too weak and the Dwarves' steam weapons too unstable. The only choice left was gunpowder. Therefore Ozöhn invested a huge amount of his personal fortune to acquire gunpowder and to build a noisy, efficient, and definitive weapon befitting his ego. Using the rains of his old armor, he forges a prosthesis for his leg and an enormous musket which he filled with shrapnel. Ever since, the Baron's musket is with him on the battlefields, downing riders, ripping flesh and pierce armor with one powerful blow.

This weapon's final test will come the day he meets Kaël, sure of himself and his armor, again!

Baron Ozöhn's musket is an uncommon weapon. When the Baron shoots at a fray or at a combat group of fighters, there is no Distribution Roll: all figurines with bare-to-base contact with the initial target suffer a Damage Roll of STR 6.
