Acolyte of Devilry
Yh-Azahir valued the fight above all else. The satisfaction he felt each time he knocked down an opponent was such that he couldn't help but laugh out loud as death suddenly danced around him! Suddenly, a Wolfen more lively than his fellows sprang up on the left of the Despot's Messenger: while the creature was about to take the possessed away in its devastating dash, a being materialized between them and threw itself into his legs...
Any Mid-Nor Character can be accompanied by an Acolyte of Devilry. The maximum number of opponents that can engage them in base-to-base contact is then reduced by 1. Thus, an infantry base can only be engaged by three opponents, a Cavalry base by five, and a Creature base by seven. The power of the Acolyte only intervenes if its owner is engaged by the maximum number of adversaries stipulated by its base.
This does not prevent the normal number of opponents from coming into contact with the bearer of the Acolyte, but one of them will not be considered as actually in contact with him. The excluded fighter is designated during fray splitting, at the Tactical Roll winner's choosing.
However, this artifact does not authorize its bearer to Disengage if they are in contact with the maximum number of opponents that can attached to their base.
An Acolyte of Devilry is considered an artifact and a Character cannot have more than one at a time.
Notes
Acolyte of Devilry was released in the French version of the Mid-Nor clan box and not in the English box. It has been translated and made into a card by TSE.
