Obscure House: Sarlath
Obscure House: Sarlath (back)

The Sarlaths are the cantors of insanity and paradox. The citadel of their sinister family hovers above Acheron, carried by infernal winds.

Father: Asura de Sarlath

House / Paradox (1 A.P.): a so-called "paradox" die is acquired for every even incomplete 250 A.P. of fighters endowed with this capacity. The paradox dice are rolled before every Approach roll. They cannot be rolled again.

The player can choose one of his paradox dice before the resolution of a test of an enemy fighter or of a friendly fighter endowed with this capacity. Its result is then the one used for the designated test (even if a capacity allows the die to be rolled again or its result to be modified). The used paradox die is then discarded.

This capacity only applies to Initiative, Attack, Defense, Aim, Discipline, Power and Divination rolls. It does not apply to Courage/Fear test or to the performing of communions and rituals. Only one paradox die can be used for a given test.

Solo / Prophetic Insanity (8 A.P.): This capacity can be given to any Character of Sarlath.

Confrontation: Before making the card pile, the player can put aside one reference card per Character endowed with this capacity who is still present in his army. He can thus accumulate up to 3 cards. These are considered to be reserve cards and are added to his regular reserve.

Rag'Narok: Up to 3 additional orders acquired thanks to the Order Attribution Table can be sacrificed right after the Tactical roll. Each one then gives the right to an additional refusal or cancels an opponent's refusal. This capacity only applies if a Sarlath is the army's Commander-in-Chief or is within the Commander-in-Chief's leadership range.

Black Weapons (Special): The weapons and armor of any Acheron Character can become black at an additional cost of 5 A.P. for every piece of enchanted equipment. This cost is of only 2 A.P. if the Character is bound to the House of Sarlath. This attribution can be made even if no Sarlath is present in the army.
