Fang of Greed
Fang of Greed (back)

The Fang of Greed was made especially for Sîn Assyris from the weapon of the first Devourer he had killed. Re-forged by Syhar craftsmen and brought down to a reasonable size, this prize is now a symbol of the struggle that opposes the envoy of Basyleüs to the Disciples of the Beast. Sîn Assyris takes a cruel pleasure in killing his enemies with their own weapons.

Even after having been modified by the Alchemists of Dirz, this strange blade has lost none of its sharpness or of its cruelty. It seems to thirstily soak up the blood spilled as if it were greedily drinking the precious vital fluid. When it feeds on the blood and agony of its victims in this way, a long shiver runs up and down the Fang of Greed, showing this accursed blade's savage will. Preserving a part of the savagery and ferocity of the Beast, its powers are released at the height of combat.

The Fang of Greed's power is represented by 6 counters. During the game Sîn Assyris can use these counters to unleash the artifact's strength.

However, he can only activate one of the powers described on the back of this card per round, if he still has enough remaining counters. Once one of the powers has been activated the corresponding counters are removed until the end of the game and there is no way to get them back.

1 Counter: Rage. Announced at the beginning of the Movement phase, Rage increases Sîn Assyris's Strength by 2 points. It is increased by 1 additional point after every Damage Roll that he suffers. The sum of these bonuses lasts until the end of the round.

2 Counters: Impulse of Death. This power must be activated at the beginning of the Movement phase. Sîn Assyris then considers all results of 5 on his Attack and Defense Rolls as being equal to 6. He can thus, if he wishes, roll again to increase the result. The Impulse of Death ends at the end of the round.

3 Counters: Usurpation. Sîn Assyris can unleash this power the moment an adversary is KILLED OUTRIGHT by one of his Attack Rolls in Hand-to-Hand Combat. His Strength or Resilience rating then becomes identical to the one on his victim's Reference card. Roll a D6 at the end of each round in which this power is active: on a result of 4 or more then power remains active in the following round. Otherwise it ends.

The Fang of Greed is reserved to Sîn Assyris.
