When they took refuge in the depths of the Abysses, the Despot's Dwarves took some of the forges of Tir-Nâ-Bor's biggest secrets with them. In time they developed their own techniques to such a level that it is sometimes hard to discern the shared origins of the metallurgy of these two peoples...
The Possessed didn't hesitate to mix their mastery of the demonic arcana with that of metal to produce vicious weapons with a supernatural touch. The Scimitars of the Abyss allow their bearers to carry out complex moves in which speed is much more important than strength, but not than the seriousness of the wounds inflicted!
Right before making a Master Strike the Scimitar of the Abyss's bearer can choose to lower his strength in order to reduce the target's Defense. The latter loses 1 point in Defense for every 2 points of Strength sacrificed. The artifact's bearer cannot make his or his opponent's characteristics become less than 0 in this way. The penalties wear off immediately after the Master Strike has been resolved.
Only a Character of Mid-Nor may carry a Scimitar of the Abyss.
