When an opponent attacks the Hydra, draw an imaginary line approximately halfway across its base. Any opponent engaged behind this line is attacked by the Hydra's tails of maws. This attack is automatic and is triggered as soon as combat dice are placed.
Every opponent in the rear half of the Hydra during the placement of dice must place at least one die in defense. This die can be used to make a normal defense from any attack.
