When Paolo Parente joined Rackham as a partner of the Company, he also brought one major asset to the table: Dust. A Weird World War 2 Dieselpunk universe for which he had already created a comic book and some action figures.

Rackham was looking for a less “fantasy” setting to compete with the leader, Warhammer 40,000, and a new competitor, Warmachine who were starting to make some noise (albeit Steampunk). Dust could fit the bill, but the Company wanted it detached from the WW2 context for obvious reasons, and (way) further down in the future.

In 2006, Rackham previewed AT-43 during two conventions in the US (Origins Game Fair and Gen Con) and 2 conventions in Europe (Monde du Jeu and Essen Spiel). In 2007, The 2 player Initiation set was released, with painted miniatures, scenarios to learn the rules and 2 factions: UNA and Therians.

From 2007 to 2010, Rackham (and the offspring past the Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Rackham Entertainment) released 6 armies:

Rackham was founded by former Games Workshop employees, and that drove their imagination pretty hard. Confrontation and Rag’narok were Mordheim and Warhammer, and very quick, the team realised they wanted a Space Hulk in the world of Confrontation. Thus Hybrid was born.

Released through 2 boxes, a few pages of the Cry Havoc magazine and some additional profile cards in some Confrontation blister, the game was never supported like it could have been. The game was a 1v1 asymmetric alternate-activation dungeon crawler where each player was trying to fulfill their own objectives on a cardboard tile-board, after building their “team” with various profiles inside their faction.

The first box contained 13 figurines: 6 griffons and 7 dirz. The game was played with 1d10 and cards that were very different from the ones used for Confrontation.

After the release of the base game, an add-on box was released, called Nemesis, with 3 miniatures (2 Griffin, 1 Dirz) and additional cardboard tiles (including hallways and corridors). The game was also supported via the Cry Havoc magazine (scenario and profiles of miniatures already released), and through the release of new miniatures with a Hybrid card in the blister.

All in all the following armies would have playable profiles, in various number, in the game:

Griffin (Akkylannie). Boar (Tir Na Bor). Lion (Alahan). Dragon (Cynwall). Scorpion (Dirz). Ram (Acheron). Snake (Ophidian).

For the privileged few, Rackham designed a game in the grand vision of Jean Bey's, Rag'Narok. Made to rival other large wargames at the time such as Warhammer, Rag'Narok took the Skirmish game that was Confrontation and increased its scale tenfold. Instead of individual figures, you would see entire units without limit in size. Spendier troops would be more at home here such as Titans and Living Legends. The use of powerful [[Rituals]] & [[Communions]] magics was also introduced for Rag'Narok only. Each army would heavily rely on a main leader, their Command in Chief. This reliance would define their capacy to act in battle, being limited by their discipline and number of orders. Additional means were created to balance this system such as being able to promote any figure to leader at the cost of 10AP to guarantee at least one order to their Unit each round. Then there are the Luminous and Dark Strangleholds, which allowed Constructs and Living-Dead to gain discipline and orders through their Cynwall Mage and Undead Necromancer counterparts.

Due to a poor translation and lay out of the English Rag'Narok Rulebook, few ever had the chance to experience the game outside of Europe. Being before the change over to Confrontation 3 and a game aside from it, all Confrontation 2 [[Spells]] & [[Miracles]] are allowed to play in Rag'Narok.

In Confrontation v2 Adventure Mode Incarnation, at the end of the "acts" of various [[:Category:Scenario Cards|Scenario Cards]] there were elite champions called Shadows, that were the nemesis of the Adventurer (Hero). The elixir is the object of the quest, an artifact or ability, held by the Shadow. The Shadows are oftentimes very powerful, unique beings that are difficult encounters even for an adventurer that has seen battle many times over.

Shadows were banned from use in tournament play by Confrontation v3.

In Confrontation v2 Adventure Mode Incarnation, at the end of the "acts" of various [[:Category:Scenario Cards|Scenario Cards]] there were elite champions called Shadows, that were the nemesis of the Adventurer (Hero). The elixir is the object of the quest, an artifact or ability, held by the Shadow. The Shadows are oftentimes very powerful, unique beings that are difficult encounters even for an adventurer that has seen battle many times over.

Shadows were banned from use in tournament play by Confrontation v3.

After the horrifying battle, the demons freed themselves from the grasp of Acheron and scattered across Aarklash. They have now joined the peoples of Darkness suiting their nature best. The mystics of Aarklash know that in the blackened hearts of the molochs slumbers a power capable of changing the face of the Rag'Narok. These immortals are natural masters of typhonism. They are only able to free the whole extent of their power at the cost of extremely painful efforts. But the more they are, the easier it is for them to summon their power.''

Each [[Warlike Moloch]] can use this special capacity once per round, during his activation. The player resolves a POW (8) test. The difficult of this test decreased by a point for each other type of moloch ([[Death Bringer Moloch|Death Bringer]], [[Famished Moloch|Famished]], [[Plague-Stricken Moloch|Plague-stricken]]) on his side even partially within 30 cm of him/of his Unit (depending on the game).

If the test is a success, the friendly fighters/Units even partially within 15 cm of the warlike moloch benefit from Implacable / 1 until the end of the round. Those who already have Implacable / X are not affected by this capacity.
